7 new large-size works on view at the Riga Gallery from 4 to 27 September

INGA BRŪVERE
cultivates her individual style consistently, blending Minimalist, Pop Art and Op Art elements.
Seven latest large-size works in the exposition “laime.lv” seem to mark places and countries among which Latvian seekers of happiness draw their trajectories – in England, Germany, France, Spain, Ireland.
The artist’s intention is surprisingly perfectly revealed in the key work of the exposition – a painted diptych with ornaments, including the Laima’s Cross well known in Latvian folklore.
INGA BRŪVERE, an adept of Minimalism, uses coloured pencils on white canvas and constantly applies simple geometric forms. In the confines of self-imposes asceticism the artist voices a conceptually poignant message – social and critical exploration of society.

INGA BRŪVERE was born in 1963. In 2003 she got MA in arts at the Latvian Academy of Art.
The artist has participated in numerous international residencies and exhibitions.
